25 Feb You don’t HAVE to be on Tik Tok. (No, seriously)
In January of this year Tik Tok announced that they’d reached 62 million downloads.
That’s A LOT of people.
And within those 62 million downloads you better bet that they aren’t ALL just doing duets and dance challenges. There’s a real opportunity to reach your people.
For example, reading is one of the least active activities of all time–and yet there are so many bookish people on Tik Tok that they’ve renamed the segment, “Book Tok.”
So why aren’t we there?
Because we can’t do it well right now.
We don’t have the time and energy to dedicate to that platform while we are also managing Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. (Not to mention making sure we are doing our best work for our clients, hello!) Our current platforms are serving us well at the moment–and we’re also building our email list. That is enough for now.
So breathe a sigh of relief. You do not need to jump on every new thing to stay relevant. If Tik Tok seems fun to you and you think you have the time to put up consistent content–go for it! Have a blast! We would LOVE to watch your cat lip sync Eye of the Tiger or laugh at your parenthood solidarity videos.
But if you don’t have that kind of time or you don’t want to do it, you really, really, really don’t have to.
