It’s easy to kind of just plod along in your business doing the same things you’ve always done - especially if your business is doing pretty well! But there are almost always things that can be approved upon, and one way to determine some of those is by doing something called a SWOT analysis. “SWOT” stands for...

S- Strengths
W- Weaknesses
O - Opportunities
T- Threats

You can do this exercise by yourself - but doing it with your whole team can be really helpful too. Basically you just arrange the words in a box, and list things about your company that fall into each category.

  • Strengths are things you're already good at.
  • Weaknesses are things you're not good at.
  • Opportunities are things you might be able to do well, but aren't doing yet.
  • Threats are things that get in the way of your success that you may or may not have any control over.

So there you have it - a relatively quick way to figure out some new things to do to keep your business fresh and relevant to your customers and your selves.
